Imagine if you will: You’ve noticed that once again, the cat has displaced the cord from the alarm clock. Shaking your head, you bend down to reinsert the plug into the socket. Unbeknownst to you, the cat has chewed the underside down to the wire. Halfway through the insertion you realize you’re taking serious amps, your body twists and stiffens, your hand is frozen over the plug, muscles taut. Holding your hand shut over the plug, you can feel your face contorting, your eyes watering and every cell in your body screaming, “I’m going to kill that cat,” when suddenly you fall back and the plug is dislodged from the socket. You lie breathing in broken breaths, every muscle seems strained and weak, you can feel your heartbeat in your head—it’s a racing pulse!
You slowly get up, determined to stand rather than crawl. You bend over and reinsert the plug and it starts all over again!
The definition of golf!
